FUn FUN FUN! #1

There simply is no other way to describe this post----FUN FUN FUN! This post is about the AMAZING time we had in Florida! Since we had so much fun, I wanted to post as many pics as I could to show everyone how much fun we really had. What an amazing opportunity this was for our family, it truly was something we will never forget and that we were super appreciative to get to do!!
Just as a little recap..... Ainslie was granted a Make- A- Wish "wish" as a result of the cancer she battled all this year. We met with some amazing people from Make-A-Wish and she told them that she really wanted to go to Disneyworld!!! What an awesome wish, right?! She made her wish in early October and we gave them 3 different weeks we thought we would like to go- they were all really soon because we wanted to go this year- before Nick started back up with tax season in January. We found out that we got to leave for Disney on Dec. 10th and that we would come back Dec. 16th. A whole week!!! I seriously could not believe what a generous and amazing trip they provided for us- they thought of everything from the hotel and rental car, to the theme parks, to spending money for food and souveniers. Let's just say that there is absolutely NO way Nick and I would have ever been able to provide such a trip for our children, and they all really deserved this super fun trip- it has been hard on all of them, Ainslie especially, of course. It really was nice to just kick back and enjoy our kids with no worries at all for one whole week!  Pretty sure we will never be able to say enough Thank-you's for this trip.

The Resort!  We stayed at this great placed made just for Make-A-Wish kids, called "Give Kids' the World".  They were not kidding when they named the place- the kids can do just about whatever they want, and the whole place is designed and geared for kids!!  Including a Jacuzzi-jet tub in the "kids" bathroom (the grown-up just got a regular size :), an all-day accessible ice-cream parlour, the world's largest candy-land game board (they use the kids as the pieces).  Also, because so many of the children there have physical handicaps, they bring a lot of the characters there for you visit with rather than having to go to the parks to see them!  AMAZING!!

Below is a pic of  the on-site icecream parlour- open from 7am til 930pm.  The kids enjoyed ice-cream for dessert almost every single night and they even got to eat it for breakfast one morning-crazy!
This is the Gingerbread house where you could eat breakfast lunch or dinner.  It was buffet style and the menu changed everyday.  There was also a diner that we could go to and you could get Boston Market for lunch or dinner til 1030 pm and they had a pizza delivery.  All of the food on site was provided for FREE, and we did try to make good use of that as much as we could- although we ate our fair share in the parks LOL!!
This is the star-castle.  All of the children who stay at GKTW, get to make star, and the "star-fairy" places it somewhere in the castle overnight.  Then the next day you go to the castle and the fairy shows you where she has placed it.  They can go back anytime they want and visit their star- they have had so many children stay here that they had to add on to the castle a few years ago.  Ainslie's star when in the newer part- up in the atrium.  Her's is the 3rd from the left on the bottom- it was hard to take a pic.

You had me at all-day accessible ice-cream parlour! I am so glad you all had this opportunity! It definitely makes me want to help Make A Wish more often.
